Dialing down diabetes.
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai launched Project HEED (Help Educate to Eliminate Diabetes) in an effort to improve the health and well-being of East Harlem residents. They saw this video series as a chance to have an honest, life-changing conversation.
Before launching into video production, we crafted Project HEED’s visual identity. We worked closely with local community organizations to ensure our eclectic color palette, dynamic fonts and diverse character designs represented East Harlem with authenticity.
Our storyboards brought East Harlem to life, depicting buzzing streets, colorful storefronts and energetic residents.
With the aesthetics in place, we created an action-oriented video series with clear goals:
Video 1: Establish the danger of diabetes
Video 2: Demonstrate how to read food labels
Video 3: Educate viewers about planning a healthy plate
Video 4: Inspire viewers to create an action plan
With the help of East Harlem’s community organizations, these videos were shared with those in the community who have the greatest needs.
